Juventus will hope to bounce back to winning ways when they welcome Udinese to the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.

Match preview

Juventus return to Serie A action after a brief winter break and will welcome Udinese to the Allianz Stadium as they look to improve their charge to defend their Scudetto title. The Bianconeri, despite only conceeding ahead of the winter break, have been unable to replicate the form which fired them to success last season. Andre Pirlo's side has struggled for consistency, as they sit in sixth position with just 24 points from 13 matches.

Juve come into Sunday's meeting with Udinese off the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina, a game which saw the Turin outfit finish with 10-men following the sending off of Juan Cuadrado. The result added to the Old Lady's run of form of just one win in their last three league appearances.

Following Inter Milan's 6-2 hammering of Crotone, Juventus are now 12 points off the top spot and could see the gap widening to 13 should AC Milan usurp the Nerazzurri with a win over Benevento earlier on Sunday afternoon. Needless to say, victory over Udinese should do some damage limitation for Pirlo and his men who are eager to turn their fortunes around.

For Udinese, a number of good performances in recent weeks has seen their fortunes turn around following a rather poor start. The White and Blacks have risen to 12th position on the league log with famous wins over Torino and Lazio. However, they could do with a lot more victories considering that just one of their last four Serie A outings have been yielded three points with the rest being two draws and one defeat.

They approach approach the upcoming clash with Juventus off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to Benevento. But having won the last meeting with the Turin side via a 2-1 scoreline, Luca Gotti's side will fancy their chances against the struggling defending champions.

Team news

Merih Demiral and Giorgio Chiellini have finally recovered from respective injuries and should give Andre Pirlo enough options at the back. The red card received by Juan Cuadrado in the defeat to Fiorentina means that he will not be available for the game aganst Udinese.

For the visitors, there is a boost in come with the return of Thomas Ouwejan, Gerard Deulofeu and Bram Nuytinck. Stefano Okaka is ruled out of the clash after a thigh surgery while defender Rodrigo Becao is suspended.
