Serie A fans don't have to wait too much longer as Italy's top flight resumes action on Sunday, January 3rd. Here's all you need to know ahead of matchday 15, which will start with Inter vs Crotone.

After a fortnight, Serie A will return to action this weekend, meaning that calcio fans haven't had to wait too long to see their favorite players and teams back in action.

Preview: Inter vs Crotone

It's set to be a battle of two teams of contrasting fortunes when Inter take on Crotone on Sunday. The Nerazzurri currently sit in second spot, just one point behind cross-town rivals AC Milan and despite floundering badly in their Champions League campaign, have done very well in Serie A. In fact, Antonio Conte's men have lost just one league match all season and come into their first game of 2021 having won five games on the spin.

By contrast, the Squali have won just twice all season, with those two wins being in their last five games and as such, headed into the Christmas break in the drop zone. They did manage to escape the drop a couple of seasons back in their first ever appearance in the top flight, but it will be interesting to see if they can manage another great escape this time around. Unfortunately for them, their opening game of 2021 will be against an Inter side who will be hungry to seize this opportunity to jump to top spot in the table - temporarily - as Milan will be locking horns with a Benevento side who have done surprisingly well so far this term.

Talking points ahead of Serie A matchday 15

Can Milan keep it up after a impressive start to the season?

So far, Milan are the only unbeaten side in Serie A. Although they've drawn two of their last five fixtures, it was still enough to help the Rossoneri head into the winter break on top of the table - but their lead is very slim, with just one point separating them from city rivals Inter. Stefano Pioli's men do boast a whopping ten point lead over reigning champs Juventus, who find themselves sixth place, but Milan fans aren't starting to dream of the Scudetto just yet as there are still plenty of games to play between now and the end of the season. However, it's clear that this arguably has been the best campaign the Diavolo have had since winning their last Scudetto in 2011 - but could this finally be the season
