After drawing with Leicester City, Manchester United will look to bounce back with a win when they take on Wolves on Tuesday.

Match preview

Manchester United will aim to return to winning ways when they host Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday. The Red Devils were left dissatisfied on Boxing Day after giving up a winning position to share spoils with Leicester City. The Old Trafford outfit, having gone in front on two occasions, allowed the Foxes to equalize twice - the last of which was Jamie Vardy's 85th-minute strike which deflected off Axel Tuanzebe past David De Gea.

Following the end of the encounter, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and a host of his players remarked that the draw felt like a defeat and, as a result, will look to deliver a positive response in the upcoming clash with Wolves. Having been tiped as potential title contenders, the performance of the 13-time Premier League winners this season has taken an upward trajectory as with an outstanding game in hand, they sit in fourth with 27 points - five points away from league leaders Liverpool.

Their success strong has been overly reliant on their impressive away form and, against Wolves at Old Trafford, they will be required to replicate that. The venue which used to be a fortress under Sir Alex Ferguson has been anything but that in recent years and under Solskjaer, the problem still persists. This season, United have only managed to take eight points from a possible 21 in their backyard despite accumulating 19 from 21 away from home. However, going into Tuesday's meeting with Nuno Espirito Santos' men, they will be buoyed by the fact that they have accrued seven points from nine in their last three home league matches.

For Wolves, it has been a subpar showing so far with their inconsistent form earning them a spot just outside the top half of the table. The Molineux outfit currently sit in 11th place with just 21 points. on Tuesday, they enter the upcoming clash with Manchester United with a lot of positives from their 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Indeed, a good result against the Red Devil will not come as surprise with Nuno's side already upholding their reputation as giant-slayers in the league this season. Despite failing to pick up a win in their previous two outings, they have successfully defeated Arsenal and Chelsea this season, only failing against Liverpool. Having held Manchester United to draws in three of four meetings last season, one would be right to expect a cagey encounter at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
