The Gunners head into this clash on the back of their impressive 3-1 win over Chelsea, with the goal being to now beat the Seagulls on the road. Can Arteta’s side record a second consecutive win? Here’s our preview of Brighton vs Arsenal.

Preview – Brighton vs Arsenal

After playing three home games in the space of a fortnight, Arsenal are gearing up for crucial back-to-back away games in the English Premier League. The first of those two games is a trip to Brighton, another club that is hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone.

For the first time in a long time, we can say the Gunners enter a game on the back of an impressive result. In their most recent fixture, the north London giants hosted Chelsea in a game many expected them to lose. However, it was Arteta's men who emerged triumphant, beating their rivals 3-1.

Goals from Lacazette, Xhaka, and Saka earned Arsenal the much-needed three points, bringing an end to their seven-game winless run. Creativity remained an issue even in that game, with the opening goal coming via a penalty and the second courtesy of a free kick.

Despite scoring three, clear-cut goalscoring opportunities were few and far between. Nonetheless, that result did wonders for their self-confidence, having failed to win an English top-flight game since the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford way back on November 1st.

While Arsenal remain in 15th, they are now six points above the relegation zone and could climb up to 13th with a win, or even 12th should Leeds United lose. The question is whether the Chelsea victory was a mere fluke or the result they needed to turn around their season.

As for Brighton, they too could do with a win. Victory over the Gunners could see them move within a point of the north London giants while failure to win could result in Burnley leapfrogging them, or worse, them dropping into the relegation zone. Can the Seagulls upset Arteta's side? Tune in to find out!
