WATCH: Gignac leads Tigres to first-ever CCL title

WATCH: André-Pierre Gignac leads epic comeback to give Tigres first CCL title

December 23, 2020 By Oscar Rojas
The Mexican side scored two goals in less than 15 minutes to come from behind against Los Angeles FC.

In what will be a day to remember, Tigres UANL have won their first-ever CONCACAF Champions League title after an epic come-from-behind victory. And who else to give them their first international title than their all-time leading scorer, André-Pierre Gignac.

The French striker had been ruled as doubtful to play this game due to a knee injury, but he stepped up when Tigres needed him the most and gave the team from the North side of Mexico a crucial goal and the title with it.

Los Angeles FC had taken the lead thanks to a goal by Diego Rossi, but a goal by Hugo Ayala and Gignac's right-footed strike were enough to keep the dominance established by Liga MX teams going since 2005.

Gignac's 84th minute goal was also enough to see him being crowned as the top scorer of the competition. Have a look at the game-winning goal scored by the Frenchman (Image might be geo-restricted).
