The Brazilian and Egyptian attackers both scored twice en route to an emphatic win at Selhurst Park.

Having moved clear at the top with the midweek 2-1 win over Tottenham, Liverpool visited Crystal Palace with one goal in mind and that was to increase their advantage. The Reds did just that in their early Selhurst Park kick-off, and in emphatic style, scoring seven past the Eagles without reply.

It did not take long for the Merseyside giants to get off the mark. Despite benching a few key players, namely Mohamed Salah, the visitors went ahead after only three minutes of play courtesy of a goal from Minamino, who was brought into the lineup.

Just over the half-hour mark, Liverpool doubled their lead, with Sadio Mane finding the back of the net this time around before Firmino made it 3-0 right before the break. The Brazilian striker completed his brace in the 68th minute, Henderson also got his name on the scoresheet, while Salah came on as a sub to join in on the fun with his late two-goal haul.

And while Sadio Mane's anger at being substituted for Salah early in the second half raised a few eyebrows, it was an excellent fixture for the defending champions. The Reds have temporarily moved six points clear at the top thanks to their 7-0 victory, and have set several records along the way.

First of all, this triumph was their largest away win in their history in the English first division. Furthermore, it was the first time Liverpool scored seven times in an away match since beating Derby in the Division One back in March 1991.

Then there was Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian superstar came off the bench to score twice while also grabbing an assist, thus becoming the first Reds player to contribute to three goals as a sub. Crystal Palace also made history with this result, but for all the wrong reasons, as it is the first time they have ever conceded seven goals at home.

Salah and Firmino becoming an iconic duo!

The onus is now on Spurs, who will be in action on Sunday, to keep pace with Klopp's rampant side. Tottenham take on Leicester and will be keen on returning to winning ways, but the north London giants will undoubtedly be in for a tricky test when they host Vardy and Co.
