Barcelona vs Valencia, Arsenal vs Man City, O Clássico headline top live games to watch on December 19-24, 2020

December 18, 2020 By Ali M.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern, Barcelona vs Valencia, Everton vs Arsenal, Tottenham vs Leicester, AC Milan vs Lazio, and Porto vs Benfica are just a few of the must-watch games to make our list.

Everton vs Arsenal, Barcelona vs Valencia the standout games on Saturday

Matchweek 13 in the Premier League might have just wrapped up on Thursday, but Matchweek 14 is already upon us, with the latest round of matches set to kick off on Saturday with the 7:30 AM ET Crystal Palace vs Liverpool showdown live on NBC Sports, UNIVERSO, Telemundo Deportes En Vivo, and SiriusXM FC. The defending champions head into this tie fresh off their 2-1 victory over Tottenham and will look to maintain or – even possibly – extend their lead at the top. A few hours later, Man City lock horns with Southampton at the St. Mary's Stadium with the sole aim of returning to winning ways after their disappointing 1-1 draw at home to West Brom. The Saints also drew 1-1 in the previous round, holding Arsenal to a stalemate, and could climb to second with a victory should a few other results go their way.

Speaking of the Gunners, they will be taking on Everton later that same day in Saturday's standout Premier League clash. NBC Sports will bring this 12:30 PM ET kick-off live to the US screens as the north London giants aim to end their torrid winless run. Arteta's side have not tasted victory in any of their last six games, with the 1-1 draw with Southampton bringing an end to their three-match losing streak. Aubameyang and Co. are 15th in the table with only 14 points, only five above the relegation zone, and are in dire need of victories. Unfortunately, the Toffees will be no easy side, with Ancelotti's men heading into this fixture on the back of a confidence-boosting 2-0 triumph over Leicester.

There are several exciting league matches taking place on Saturday outside the English top-flight. La Liga is one of them, with Spanish giants Barcelona hosting Valencia in a highly-anticipated 10:15 AM ET showdown. Fanatiz USA and beIN Sports will bring live coverage of this fixture as the Blaugrana aim to build on their recent 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad, a result which saw the Catalan giants climb from eighth to fifth in the table. Los Che, meanwhile, have also struggled this season and are in 12th with only 14 points. Victory at the Camp Nou could spark a turnaround in fortunes for Javi Garcia's side. Tune in to find out whether they can beat the mighty Barcelona.

In the Bundesliga, reigning champions Bayern Munich will travel to table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen in the highlight fixture of Matchday 13. Lewandowski will lead his side fresh off winning The Best FIFA Men's Player prize and will look to reinstate the Bavarians as the league leaders with a victory. In Italy, Juventus take on Parma having dropped points in their recent encounter with Atalanta. Cristiano and Co. are four points adrift of AC Milan but will strive to slash this gap. Tune in to ESPN+, Fanatiz USA, and Rai Italia Nord America to catch the action!

Tottenham vs Leicester headlines an action-packed Sunday

Milan's two giants will be in action on Sunday in simultaneous 9:00 AM ET kick-offs, with Inter taking Spezia and AC Milan visiting Sassuolo. The Nerazzurri are only a point behind their city rivals after beating Napoli and could go top of the table with a win, should Stefano Pioli's side slip up. The Rossoneri, meanwhile, have drawn their last two Serie A fixtures and will be keen on returning to winning ways.

One of Sunday's standout games will take place at 9:15 AM ET and that is Tottenham vs Leicester. Both these teams head into this fixture on the back of defeats, with Spurs losing 2-1 at Anfield after conceding a late Firmino goal while the Foxes were beaten 2-0 by Everton. As a result, Mourinho's side and Rodgers' team have lost ground in the title race to leaders Liverpool. A few hours later, Man United will take on bitter rivals Leeds United in what should be an interesting showdown. Bielsa's exciting team will want to get the better of Ole's side but it should be noted that the Red Devils have been performing well as of late, winning all but one of their last six EPL ties.

Real Madrid will return to action on Sunday as well, taking on 11th-placed Eibar live on Fanatiz USA and beIN Sports. Los Blancos are level on points with Real Sociedad and Atletico, meaning they could move clear at the top should they triumph and the other two slip up. Ligue 1 champions PSG, meanwhile, visit Lille at 3:00 PM ET whom they trail by a single point, meaning victory would see Les Parisiens return to the top. Do not miss this game.

Arsenal take on Man City in highly-anticipated Carabao Cup showdown as the action continues throughout the midweek

Thought the action ceases once the weekend comes to an end? Think again! Chelsea lock horns with West Ham United in the Premier League on Monday with one goal and one goal only in mind: bouncing back from their two consecutive defeats. On Tuesday, Man City and Arsenal will lock horns in what should be an entertaining Carabao Cup showdown at the Emirates Stadium. This quarter-final clash, which will be broadcasted live on ESPN+, will see Arteta and Guardiola cross paths once again, with Pep winning every single league encounter while Mikel emerged triumphant in their one and only cup clash. Given the Gunners' recent struggles, the League Cup could be one of a few shots at silverware for the north London giants, thus increasing the pressure on their young Spanish manager to deliver. Will Arsenal be able to beat the Citizens? Tune in to find out.

That Carabao Cup clash is not all ESPN+ has on schedule for Tuesday, with the OTT streaming service also airing Juventus' Serie A match against Fiorentina live at 2:45 PM ET. La Viola are hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone and could do with some points but will unfortunately face an uphill battle to beat Cristiano and Co. in Turin.

Things get more interesting on Wednesday, with Tottenham taking on Stoke City in their bid to make the Carabao Cup semi-finals while Man United face a tricky test away to Everton. The Red Devils have already beaten the Toffees at Goodison Park this season, scoring three past them in the league back in early November. Fans can tune in to ESPN+ to see whether Solskjaer's side will make the last four or crash out of yet another competition this season.

There will be a few interesting league showdowns, with Real Madrid hosting the high-flying Granada in their 1:45 PM ET encounter while Serie A giants AC Milan welcoming Lazio to the San Siro for their 2:45 PM ET showdown in yet another exciting game to make the ESPN+ midweek schedule. While the Eagles are in the top half of the table, Inzaghi's side find themselves way off the mark in the Scudetto race. Will they beat Ibrahimovic and Co? Tune in to find out.

And finally, we have O Clássico! Porto will lock horns with bitter rivals Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup this Wednesday. RTPi will bring this clash live to the US screens as the Dragons and the Eagles battle it out for the first piece of silverware available this season. Both sides have had a few hiccups this term, but Portugal's top two teams, having progressed to the knockout stages in Europe, will want to clinch the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira title and come away with all the bragging rights.'
