The Arsenal striker finally found the back of the net for Gunners after failing to do so in six previous appearances.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally ended his non-scoring form for Arsenal by getting on the scoresheet against Southampton on Wednesday. The 31-year-old striker found the back of the net after failing to do so in six successive Premier League games to secure a point for the Gunners in the night's 1-1 draw.

Arsenal, who welcomed Southampton to the Emirates in search of their first league win in six matches, were forced to fought back for a point after conceding Southampton's opener inside the first 18 minutes. It was their former winger Theo Walcott who put the Saint's in the driving seat as the hosts struggled to find their feet.

Having concluded the first 45 minutes with a goal deficit, Mikel Arteta's men were pulled back into the game, thanks to Aubameyang. The goal ultimately ended the Gabonese forward's run of 648 minutes without a Premier League goal at the Emirates.

While his side would have fancied to push ahead for a comeback, the process was halted abruptly after Gabriel picked up a red card in the 62nd minute. Not much ensued from that point onwards with Arsenal securing a point to take their tally to 14 after 11 matches. the Gunners currently sit in the 15th position, extending their record for the worst start to a season since the 1970s.
