The Portuguese playmaker came off the bench to inspire the Red Devils to a brilliant win at the London Stadium.

Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes has earned massive plaudits after inspiring Manchester United to a sensational comeback win over West Ham on Saturday. The 26-year-old midfielder came off the bench in the second half to assist in the scoring of the Red Devils' opener before creating a host of chances to fire the visitors to a 3-1 victory at the London Stadium.

Not many might have predicted a win for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men who were completely outplayed in the first half of their encounter with the Hammers. The hosts opened the scoring through Tomas Soucek in the 38th minute but could have been easily three or four goals up before the break had they been clinical enough.

Little did they know that they will live to rue their missed opportunities with a change in tactics and personnel by the United bench steering them right on course to clinch the maximum points. Following the resumption of proceedings in the second half, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were introduced into the game for Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani respectively. Moments later, a groin injury to Anthony Martial led to his substitution for Juan Mata.

The game's turning point arrived in the 64th minute with Bruno Fernandes assisting Paul Pogba to hit home a stunning goal from long range. Three minutes later, Juan Mata and Alex Telles combined to serve Mason Greenwood with the pass that will ultimately result in their side's second goal.

The turn around would have been concluded earlier had Marcus Rashford convert Bruno's in-field pass in the 74th minute. The English striker broke away and was left one-on-one with West Ham's Lukas Fabianski but saw his shot hit the goal post. Nevertheless, it did not take long for him to vindicate himself by putting the icing on the cake with Manchester United's third of the encounter.

At the end, Bruno Fernandes was adjudged the Man of the Match despite featuring in the game for only 45 minutes. In his short spell against West Ham, the Portuguese playmaker created eight chances from open play - the most any player has managed in a single Premier League game this season. In all, he has created 35 chances in the league this season, more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues.
