Manchester United will look to extend their record of eight successive Premier League away wins when they travel to London on Saturday.

Match preview

Manchester United will travel to London to take on West Ham United on Matchday 11 in the English Premier League on Saturday. The match is set to become the first in the Premier League with fans since March, with some 2,000 home fans set to occupy the London Stadium. With the arrangement set to mark the beginning of competitive football returning back to normality, the visiting team will also be keen on mounting a proper title challenge by getting the full three points.

Up until recently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer men were pretty inconsistent with their performances in the premiership. Prior to winning their last four games on a bounce, the Red Devils picked up just one win from four outings, drawing one and losing the other two. They currently sit in the ninth position with 16 points and a win over the Hammers could lift them to momentarily occupy a spot in the top four should results elsewhere go in their favor. With a game in hand, the Old Trafford outfit are just five points away from league leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

Needless to say, United approach the weekend's game with West Ham with the desire to make amends for the mid-week's collapse against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. Having failed to utilized their chances, the Reds were punished by the Ligue 1 outfit, putting their progression into the knockout phase in a balance. With West Ham also soaring in form and brimming with confidence, any performance reminiscent of what ensured at Old Trafford against Les Parisiens could prove costly.

David Moyes' side go into Saturday's game on a three game unbeaten run in the Premier League and have picked up just one defeat in their last eight Premier League appearances. The loss which came against Liverpool in October occured after the Hammers had won against Leicester City and had taken a point each from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

The Londoners sit in fifth position with 17 points from 10 outings and are just a point above Manchester United. A win will take them to a point behind both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur who are scheduled to play their respective matches on Sunday.

Team news

Manchester United will be without Luke Shaw and Phil Jones for the trip to the London Stadium as the pair is yet to recover from injury. Meanwhile, the availability of Edinson Cavani remains uncertain with the FA yet to pass a verdict on an alleged 'racist' post made by him on Instagram after his side's comeback win over Southampton. Marcus Rashford remains a doubt for the clash after picking up a knock in Wednesday's defeat to PSG.

For West Ham, Michel Antonio could be the only notable absentee. The England international featured in win over Aston Villa but could not last the full duration of the game. Relatively, Andriy Yarmolenko is also set to miss out on making the team for the clash with the Red Devils.

Predicted starting XI

  • West Ham United: Fabianski; Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Coufal, Rice, Soucek, Masuaku; Bowen, Haller, Fornals

  • Manchester United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles; McTominay, Fred; Van de Beek, Fernandes, Martial; Cavani.
