The former Ballon D'Or winner with Los Culés revealed how Neymar's words on the subject could hint the way things could go down next summer.

Neymar's words about his desire to play one more time right next to Lionel Messi may have made Barcelona fans eager to see the duo back together, but according to one former Barcelona footballer, the possibility of watching both of them playing for the same team might take place in another European team.

Speaking in his capacity as Betfair's spokesman, Brazilian ace Rivaldo revealed that Neymar's words regarding his future alongside Messi's might have something to do with the Argentine's desire to leave Barcelona. Moreover, the 1999 Ballon D'Or winner believes that "Ney" might be the one pulling the strings to have his fomer teammate come and play for PSG.

"When Neymar comes out to say he wants to play with Messi again, that means he might know something we don't about Leo's possible transfer to PSG. Sincerely, it would be magnificent to see them play together again, even if that happens at PSG," Rivaldo said.

The former midfielder added that the deal could materialize given the great relationship between the two footballers.

"Messi and Neymar are close friends and they talk a lot. So, Neymar knows perfectly that Messi runs out of a contract at Barcelona, and he must be putting some pressure on PSG so they try to sign Leo for next season. It is the right time for them to try and pull it off," Rivaldo added.

In order to see Messi leaving Barcelona, all the candidates must strike out in their attempt to keep him around, and one of the most outspoken candidates on this subject has been Joan Laporta. Rivaldo, who worked with Laporta during his first spell as president, admitted that the exec could try his best to convince Messi, but he believes that Leo is already looking for pastures new.

"Messi's situation with Barcelona has gotten colder after everything that happened after the end of last season. I've said it before: I believe that Messi is already thinking about new challenges in his career. It will be tough to deal with, but this looks like it will be his last season at Camp Nou," Rivaldo concluded.
