Premier League: Where to watch Brighton vs Liverpool live in 170+ countries

November 27, 2020 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
Liverpool will hope to bounce back from the midweek's Champions League defeat to Atalanta when they travel to Brighton on Saturday.

Match preview

Brighton & Hove Albion will welcome Liverpool to the Amex Stadium for Saturday's early kick-off game. A fine performance last weekend saw the hosts securing a much needed win against an Aston Villa side that beat the opponents they face 7-2 in the early weeks of this season. The Seagulls stunned Dean Smith's side at Villa Park via a 2-1 scoreline, with Danny Welbeck and Solly March providing the goals, leaving the Villans with Ezri Konsa's strike as a consolation.

While they may still be hovering right over the relegation zone in 16th position, breaking a seven-game winless run will undoubtedly lift the spirit in Brighton's camp. Against Liverpool, a win will ensure a first-ever back-to-back league win for Graham Potter's men in over a year. To achieve that, they will be required to end the Reds' flawless nine-game run against them - a feat which will also see them register their first-ever top-flight win over the Merseysiders.

History has particularly been kind to Liverpool, as they have only allowed Brighton to pick up just two points from a possible 42 in previous games. The Anfield outfit will approach the weekend's encounter ready and poised to make amends for collapsing to a 2-0 defeat when they hosted Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday. The defeat was the first-ever in which they had suffered with a two goal deficit at home under Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, that was a hard pill to swallow, but the reigning Premier League champions will bank on their impressive Premier League form to push on in their title defense. They currently sit in second place with 20 points from a possible 27 and are only edged by Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference. All this has been achieved with a number of their first-choice players out with injuries.

Head to head

Liverpool are unbeaten in nine successive games against Brighton. They have scored 27 goals and have conceded just seven in the process. The last meeting between the pair ended in a 3-1 win for Jurgen Klopp's men at the Amex.

Team news

Brighton will be without Florin Andone, Jose Izquierdo and Christian Walton as they are yet to recover from injuries. Alexis Mac Allister is also set to miss out of the clash with Liverpool due to coronavirus. Adam Lallana remains a doubt while Tariq Lamptey will be unavailable due to suspension.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will be dealing with a headache of their own with Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Xherdan Shaqiri all amiss as a result of injuries. Skipper Jordan Henderson is set for a return after featuring in the team's final training season.

Predicted starting XI

Brighton & Hove Albion: Ryan; White, Dunk, Webster; Veltman, Bissouma, Gross, March; Trossard; Welbeck, Maupay.

Liverpool: Alisson; N Williams, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Milner, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane; Jota.
