Szoboszlai is on the radar of several European giants after impressing for RB Salzburg and Hungary.

Arsenal are in dire need of a number 10 and have reportedly set their sights on one of Europe's hottest prospects. That man is none other than Dominik Szoboszlai, the RB Salzburg sensation who is already garnering attention from the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, AC Milan, and many others.

Over the past 18 months, the 20-year-old has seen his stocks risen, going from strength to strength at the Austrian club. 2019/20 was the season everything blew up, contributing to 30 goals in 40 apps across all competitions, scoring 12 and assisting another 18. This has made a lot of European giants stand up and pay attention, Arsenal being one of them.

Anyone who follows the Gunners knows the club is in dire need of creativity. Additionally, the lack of goals from the midfield means the burden falls heavily on Aubameyang should and when he struggles to score, as he is right now, the north London giants suffer. Szoboszlai would solve this as he is capable of both finding the back of the net and setting up goals for fun.

The Hungarian, who recently guided his nation into the Euro 2022, has a $30M release clause, with Salzburg coach Jesse Marsch admitting it is difficult to see him staying put past January due in large to his relatively cheap buyout clause. According to the Mirror, Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer and has asked the Gunners board to sanction a move for the talented 20-year-old.

However, due the financial devastation brought upon the club by the COVID-19 pandemic, Arsenal look to strike a deal in which they can pay his release clause over the course of three years. It remains to be seen whether Szoboszlai's employers are willing to entertain this offer.

Given that Los Blancos and the Bavarians are set to be interested, RB Salzburg may not need to negotiate with cash-strapped clubs such as the Emirates Stadium side. However, it should be noted that the player's agent stated that the midfielder is keen on joining a club where he can continue his growth, which might work in Arsenal's favor.

The Hungarian talent has already scored five goals and assisted another nine in 13 games this season and appears to be a perfect fit for the Premier League due to his strength, speed, and technique.

Arteta's side are currently preparing for an intriguing Sunday showdown with newly-promoted side Leeds. Aubameyang and Co. lost 3-0 at home to Aston Villa right before the break and will be keen on returning to winning ways.
