Klopp has lost all four of his backline and might now add a crucial midfielder to the list of absentees.

Liverpool just can’t seem to catch a break with the injuries, with yet another key figure from the roster picking up a knock while on international duty. That man is none other Jordan Henderson, the captain and influential leader behind the Merseyside giants’ recent success.

The Englishman was on duty during the Three Lions’ UEFA Nations League showdown with Belgium, which ended in a 2-0 defeat for Southgate’s men. The Anfield ace partnered West Ham talent Declan Rice in the midfield but was withdrawn at half-time, with Tottenham’s Harry Winks replacing him.

The gaffer opened up about this situation in his post-match press conference, revealing the former Sunderland man was taken off during the interval due to “tightness”. While the coach admitted to being unsure over the severity of this issue, it will raise worry at Anfield nonetheless due to the fitness issues Henderson has been going through this season and the pending injury crisis at the club.

"Jordan had a bit of tightness at half time and felt he couldn't carry on," Southgate stated.

"We'll have to assess him when we get back."

The Englishman is undoubtedly a crucial figure in the Reds’ midfield and his absence at the beginning of the season was truly felt. Klopp made sure to ease him back from injury so as to avoid a setback and will now be hoping his “tightness” is nothing serious.

Jurgen was already reeling with the absence of Virgil van Dijk, with the Dutchman picking up a long-term knee injury. Since then, things have gone from bad to worse, with Trent Alexander-Arnold picking up a knock in the recent 1-1 draw at Man City before both Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson picked up injuries while on international duty.

This means Liverpool’s entire back-four are currently sidelined but there are other concerns, with Mohamed Salah unfortunately contracting COVID-19 while with Egypt, ruling him out for the upcoming showdown with Leicester. Thiago and Chamberlain also look set to miss the upcoming league game but Fabinho should be back in the lineup.
