Juventus: Injury scare for Ronaldo as Caicedo snatches point for Lazio with late equalizer

November 8, 2020 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The Portuguese forward was forced off in Sunday's clash after picking a knock but his side failed to hang onto the lead in his absence.

Cristiano Ronaldo sparked an injury scare for Juventus after limping off in Sunday's draw at Lazio. The 35-year-old forward opened the scoring for the Bianconeri but was unable to last the whole duration of the encounter with his side eventually sharing spoils with the visitors.

In what was his third successive contribution on the scoresheet following his recovery from the coronavirus, Cristiano Ronaldo fired Juventus in front by tapping home a low cross from Juan Cuadrado inside the 16th minute. The former Real Madrid attacker consistently proved to be a thorn in the flesh of Lazio and almost came close to doubling his side's advantage at multiple instances.

However, in the 76th minute, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner hobbled off the pitch and had ice applied to his ankle after taking a hit. He was replaced by Paulo Dybala.

With the game virtually won by Juventus, substitute Felipe Caicedo delivered a late twist to the proceeding by curling home a 95th-minute equalizer for Lazio after Joaquin Correa created the chance with a brilliant solo effort.
