The Brazilian goalkeeper committed a costly blunder to put his side at at a disadvantage in Saturday's encounter.

A bizarre goalkeeping mistake involving Barcelona's Neto proved costly as the Catalans picked up just a point in Saturday's clash with Alaves. A momentary lapse in concentration by the Brazilian was capitalized on by the hosts in what was a frustrating night for Los Blaugrana.

With first choice goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen yet to make a full recovery, Neto was handed the opportunity to man Barca's post once more as they looked to bounce back from their Clasico defeat to Real Madrid last weekend. It will soon become a night to forget for the 31-year-old Brazilian as he will go on to gift Alaves the opening goal on a silver platter.

An apparent lack of communication between him and Gerard Pique led the shot-stopper to miscontrol a pass from his defender after being put under a little pressure by Luis Rioja. The Alaves defender will then latch onto the loose ball and slot home for his first goal of the season.

Nevertheless, fortune seemed to have finally smiled on Barcelona as Pablo Machin's side was forced to finish the day with 10 men following Jota's sending off. Antoine Griezmann got the equalizer for the visitors a minute after the hosts were short-handed but the fate of the game was sealed with none of the sides getting on the scoresheet for the second time despite goal scoring chances being aplenty.

With the night's result not going their way, Barcelona now sit in 12th position with just eight points from six outings. Their current tally is half of what has been accrued by league leaders Real Madrid after the same number of appearances.
