The Blades and the Citizens will be involved in a must-win fixture for either sides in Saturday's Premier League encounter.

Match preview

Sheffield United will be out to upset the odds and grab their first three points of the season when they welcome Manchester City to Bramall Lane on Saturday. After impressing in their return to the Premier League last season, the Blades have failed to hit their strides this term and have already been tipped by many to battle relegation.

A poor start to the league season has seen Chris Wilder's men suffer five defeats in six outings, with their best performance thus far coming in the 1-1 draw against Fulham on Matchday 5. Getting goals and keeping clean sheets have not been easy for a team that finished last season with one of the best defensive records as they have managed just three and have conceded nine so far.

While Sheffield could use a win over Manchester City with a trip to Chelsea on the card after the international break, the former league holders will grace Bramall Lane with a plan of their own. The Citizens come in the clash off the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw with West Ham United and will hope to return to winning ways as soon as possible.

A rather uncharacteristic start to the season has seen them occupying 13th position after five league outings with eight points to show for it. Injuries to the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus have also rendered the Etihad outfit almost toothless in the attacking departing.Known for consistently running away with massive scorelines, Pep Guardiola's side has scored and conceded eight goals apiece in the league so far.

Needless to say, their impressive start in the Champions League that has seen them leading their group by beating Porto and Marseille could serve as a catalyst for better results in the premiership.
