After failing to win their last two games, Juventus will be determined to get back on track as they travel to take on newly-promoted Spezia.

Preview: Spezia vs Juventus

Juventus come into this match having lost at home to Barcelona for the first time in their history, and more significant, the Bianconeri are now winless in their last two games across all comps. Overall, they find themselves in sixth spot in the league table, four points behind current league leaders AC Milan and were saved from what would have been a rather embarrassing loss to minnows Verona with a goal from young striker Dejan Kulusevski. Prior to that, they ended up dropping points to bottom ranked Crotone, but Alvaro Morata's effort ensured that they were able to depart with another draw.

And now, Juventus are on the road once again against a third small side, a third team that they really should be easily able to pick up all three points against. However, the inconsistent way they've been playing leads fans to be really concerned ahead of this trip. The absence of players like Cristiano Ronaldo certainly haven't helped, and although others like Alvaro Morata have been trying to pitch in, the fact that all of his goals against Barcelona were somehow ruled offside - thus nullifying what would have been a very impressive hat-trick - is really discouraging. The same happened against Crotone, which would have given Juventus a 2-1 win instead of that one-all draw, and again against Verona, which again would have possibly meant a 2-1 victory.

Without a shadow of a doubt, it must be very frustrating for Morata, but it is what it is, and could have, would have, should have isn't going to give the Bianconeri the points they need. Paulo Dybala has really struggled to make an impact this season since his re-introduction after struggling with illness, and Federico Chiesa has been non-existent since agitating and finally forcing the move he's desperately wanted from Fiorentina; his only contribution to date was an assist against Crotone and getting himself sent off.

As for Spezia, the newly promoted side will be aiming to simply stay afloat this season, and to achieve that, 40 points is usually the number a team needs. They've earned five so far, and come into this game in 15th spot. Simply put, they'll try to grind out a point here and hold Juventus at bay for as long as possible. They'll also take notes from fellow minnows Verona and Crotone and will feel that if Crotone can do it, then they will certainly have a glimmer of hope - especially given that Juve may not have Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, Dybala still isn't up to speed, Morata can't really stay onside and find the back of the net, and the second-highest goal-scorer is a youngster not many had too much about before this season.

Team news: Spezia vs Juventus

Spezia: Martin Erlic is out with COVID-19. Jacopo Sala, Jeroen Zoet, Juan Ramos, Elio Capradossi, and Federico Mattiello are all out with injuries. Giulio Maggiore and Riccardo Marchizza have both recovered from COVID-19 but it remains to be seen if they will be involved in this game.

Juventus: Although Cristiano Ronaldo has since recovered from COVID-19, it's not too likely he will return to action here for this match. American midfielder Weston McKennie also may not be involved just yet, and Giorgio Chiellini only just returned to training, so this game may have come too soon for him to be back in the starting XI. Defenders Alex Sandro and Matthijs de Ligt are both still out injured.
