Preview: Inter vs Gladbach
Inter come into this game having lost 2-1 in last weekend's Derby della Madonnina, with a goal from Romelu Lukaku not enough to cancel out Zlatan Ibrahimovic's brace. That result meant that the Rossoneri beat the Nerazzurri for the first time in Serie A since they won 3-0 in January 2016, and has helped them to stay on top of the league table.
Despite the bitter loss, Inter will not have much time to dwell on that as they now have to turn their attention towards facing ambitious side Borussia Moenchengladbach. Lukaku has started off his season in the same way he ended his last campaign, with four goals so far in four matches, and will certainly be looking to open his Champions League account for this season.
Meanwhile, Borussia Mochengladbach are back in the Champions League for the first time since the 2016/2017 season, thanks to a fourth-placed finish in last season's Bundesliga. Marco Rose's side narrowly pipped Bayer Leverkusen to that coveted fourth place, and now die Fohlen will hope to cause some trouble for last season's Europa League runners-up.
Domestically, the visitors haven't fared as they would like. Although it's only four matches into the current Bundesliga season, Gladbach find themselves in the bottom half of the table, with just one win so far.
Team news: Inter vs Gladbach
Inter: The Nerazzurri have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and players like Radja Nainggolan, Ashley Young, Milan Skriniar, Roberto Gagliaridini, and Ionut Radu are all anticipated to be missing this upcoming clash. In addition, Alexis Sanchez, who struggled for game-time last season due to injuries still is not fully match fit so is a doubt for this game along with Matias Vecino who is slowly recovering from a knee injury.
Gladbach: The visitors also have quite a few players either absent or in doubt for this match. Andreas Poulsen is out with a shoulder injury, while Valentino Lazaro, Laszlo Benes and Denis Zakaria are all not match fit.
