The Uruguayan striker spoke right after the game where La Celeste defeated Chile in Matchday 1 of the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers

Luis Suárez's exit from Barcelona was quite surprising for most of his teammates, but the real takeaway from that situation were the poor manners shown by the team and their president to see him off.

In the post-match interview after the game between Uruguay and Chile, Suárez offered his views on how the situation developed and how it influenced a fiery reaction by his former teammate and friend, Lionel Messi.

The Uruguayan ace spoke in detail about Messi's reaction on social media while also stating that he expected such words after he had talked about his exit with "La Pulga" before it happened.

"I was not surprised because I know him too well, I knew about the pain he felt, how he said it and how I said it. I felt that they were kicking me out and that's what hurt me the most. We're big boys and I had spent six years there, there were other ways for them to tell me the news. The way they chose to tell me the news was what bothered me and what bothered him as well," Suárez said.

The striker added that Messi and his family will surely have mixed feelings for his departure, especially because of the bond the players had created on and off the pitch.

"I don't see Messi as the world sees me. I see him as a friend, as a teammate, and he knows what he went through and how complicated that moment was for all of us," the Uruguayan added.

Before the interview came to an end, Suárez revealed how everything changed for him once his move to Atlético was confirmed. Added to that, he thanked Los Colchoneros for making him feel at home since day one.

"There were times when I spent the whole day crying for what I was going through. Them, all of a sudden, I went back to being valued as a player. I felt the love of my new coach and my teammates, who welcomed me as one of their own. I have great memories from day one up until the debut," Suárez concluded.
