The forrmer Olympique Marseille boss went further by looking into his pupil's role at Camp Nou, hinting that the striker may not be having a good time there.

The relationship between club bosses and National team coaches has always been rocky, and Didier Deschamps' recent words on Antoine Griezmann's situation under Ronald Koeman will surely make some waves at Camp Nou Stadium.

Speaking in a press conference with the French national team, coach Didier Deschamps slammed Koeman's tactics when it comes to how he has chosen to use Antoine Griezmann on the pitch.

"Griezmann has been playing on the right flank, but we can't really understand why his coach has not chosen to use him on a more centered position," Deschamps said.

According to Deschamps, Koeman's poor handling of his pupil has already provoked an uneasiness effect on Griezmann, hinting that his role at Camp Nou may not be as satisfying as he or the team's supporters would want.

"I am convinced about the fact that he (Griezmann) is not happy with his current situation at Barcelona. I am sure that Koeman would not be happy to hear what Antoine has to say on that matter if he had a chance to speak up, but I will leave that to him. I will not go further on to discuss what happens within the clubs," Deschamps added.

Griezmann has failed to score or assist in any of Barcelona's three games of the season, which have raised criticism from fans, experts, and from his coach himself, who questioned Griezmann's poor form in front of goal after the game against Sevilla, where he played a bit over 60 minutes.
