The Dutch winger is expected to seal a move to Camp Nou in the next 24 hours.

Lyon Sporting Director Juninho has revealed that Memphis Depay is on the verge of securing a move to Barcelona ahead of transfer deadline day. The 26-year-old Dutch winger has been heavily linked with a transfer to Camp Nou in recent weeks and, with the window shutting close on Monday, he is expected to finally make the switch.

On Sunday, Lyon hosted rivals Marseille at the Groupama Stadium but were without their skipper. Following the 1-1 draw, manager Rudi Garcia outlined the reasons for the former Manchester United attacker's omission. He cited that the player was not physically sound and also had much uncertainty surround his future ahead of the closure of the transfer market.

In a relative event, Lyon chief Juninho has already let the cat out of the bag, highlighting the fact that Memphis Depay is expected to be a Barcelona player on Monday - an admission which is contrary to what was reported in the French media a fortnight ago.

"He has 12 months left on his contract, so..." Juninho told Telefoot on Sunday.

"He has a contract [agreed] with Barcelona, we're not hiding from that.

"It's possible that Memphis signs for Barcelona tomorrow [Monday], but that's not certain."

"He's the most likely player to leave."If he stays, he'll help us."

Meanwhile, Barcelona's hesitation to wrap up the deal is said to be down to the fact that they do not have funds readily available to sign Memphis. As a result, Los Blaugrana are expected make some money from sales and potential loan deals to secure the service of the attacker who is valued around $30m.

According to the trusted Gianluca DiMarzio and Fabrizio Romano, the Lyon star has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona and Los Blaugrana are expected to agree on a fee with the player's club. Meanwhile, his arrival is expected to pave the way for Ousmane Dembele to secure else where.

The French winger is said to be on the radar of Manchester United and could potentially secure a loan or permanent move to the Old Trafford depending on the course negotiations take. For Barcelona, the latter is apparently ideal as it will equip them with the needed funds to finally recruit Memphis Depay.
