The last week before the international break could leave us with the first qualified teams for the next round.

We enter the final stretch in the Group Stage of the Copa Libertadores, and we could finally know the first names of the teams that enter the knockout stage of the competition. Others could secure their spot in the Copa Sudamericana, and there will eventually be eight unfortunate team to go back home.

Matchday 4 had some interesting results. Out of those, Flamengo, River Plate, and Boca Juniors snatched away wins that helped their respective campaigns to reach the next round. All of them will enter Matchday 5 dominating their future, although Boca could be the only one of these clubs to secure their spot in the next round.

Fans should keep under consideration that the tournament will stop for 19 days, due to the upcoming international break. While some clubs will use it to recover some of their injured players, most clubs and players would have preferred to carry on with one of the most strange Copa Libertadores editions of all time.

With that in mind, let us have a look at the groups of the 2020 Copa Libertadores ahead of Matchday 5.

Matchday 5 will kick off on Tuesday, September 29 with six games. Just like last week, Wednesday will be action-packed with seven matches, and all activity will come to an end on Thursday with three more matches.

These will be the games being played on Tuesday. On that day, Boca Juniors and Athletico Paranaense could seal their spot in the next round, while Colo-Colo and Peñarol will face each other in a do-or-die clash.

Wednesday, September 30 will have an interesting clash between Nacional and Racing, with the Uruguayan side one point away from securing the top spot in Group F. The rematch between Flamengo and Independiente del Valle is a must-watch, while River Plate will try to keep their hopes of a top-spot finish alive when they host a desperate Sao Paulo side.

Matchday 5 will come to an end on Thursday with only three games, but that does not mean there will be nothing interesting to watch. The highlight of the day will be the clash between Olimpia and Santos, with the Paraguayans trying to forget about their off-the-pitch problems. If Santos manages to win the match, they will claim the top spot of the group and they will eliminate Olimpia from the competition.
