Spurs will be hosted by Bulgarian outfit Lokomotiv Plovdiv in their first real test to book a spot in the upcoming Europa League competition.

Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Bulgaria to face Lokomotiv Plovdiv in a second-round qualifying game of the 2020/2021 Europa League competition. The North London outfit had a false start in the Premier League last weekend following a 1:0 home defeat to Carlo Ancelotti's Everton side.

But they will aim to put the disappointment behind as quickly as possible and bounce back with a place in the third round of the European competition at stake. Despite recording losses in their last two outings, Spurs have really impressed in their previous 10 outings. The White Lilies are unbeaten in the remaining eight matches, winning six and drawing two.

Lokomotiv Plovdiv, on the other hand, come into the clash with a similar form. The Bulgarian outfit who finished second in the Parva Liga last season, boast seven wins in their last 10 appearances in all competitions. They have already had a taste of the qualifying round of the Europa League as they defeated Montenegrin outfit Iskra 1-0 in the n the first round to book the clash with Spurs.

Considering the magnitude of the team they face, a cautious approach will be required from Lokomotive manager Bruno Akrapović when he comes face-to-face with Jose Mourinho.
