Agent Jonathan Barnett admitted that a swift decision on Bale's future could be made in the next few days.

Gareth Bale and Real Madrid seem destined to part ways this summer, and his agent's words on this issue have never been clearer.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, agent Jonathan Barnett addressed the rumors linking his most famous client to Tottenham Hotspur. In the discussion, Barnett stated that not only negotiations with the London-based side are underway, there have also been candid talks between Gareth Bale and Spurs' boss, José Mourinho.

"Gareth has spoken to Jose and explained how Spurs have a special place in his heart," Barnett said.

The agent went on to reveal how his client could finally leave the club after years of speculation on this matter.

"There's a long way to go on some issues, but without doubt Gareth is closer to leaving Madrid than at any time in the last seven years," Barnett added.

Discussions about a potential deal emerged on Tuesday, when Bale's name came up as Tottenham execs negotiated with Real Madrid for Sergio Reguilón's transfer. Now, as things stand, the deal could be announced before this month comes to an end.

"The deal is complicated, but there's reason to believe a deal is close and things could move very quickly if discussions continue to go well,"the agent concluded.

Bale's time at the Bernabeu could come to an end after playing 251 games for Los Blancos. During those games, Bale scored 105 goals and handed out 68 assists, and his title haul while at the Spanish club included two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cup wins, four UEFA Champions League trophies, and four FIFA Club World Cup crowns.
