The super clash ended with the Brazilian and two teammates as well as two players from the opposition receiving their marching orders.

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr was sent off in the late minutes of Sunday night's clash with Olympique Marseille. The 28-year-old Brazilian winger and four other players were dismissed for playing respective roles in a brawl that broke out as 'Le Classique' approached it end.

Against all odds, Dimitri Payet and Florian Thauvin combined to score the only goal which eventually sealed Marseille's first win over the current Ligue 1 champions in nine years. What was a frustrating night for the latter was capped with the fact that for the first time since 1978, they have failed to score in both of their first two opening league matches.

Prior to the aforementioned feat materialising, a scuffle broke out inside the fourth minute of the six added on as a result of stoppages. Layvin Kurzawa and Jordan Amavi were the first to be shown the red card before Leandro Paredes and Dario Benedetto were also given their marching orders.

Neymar Jr was the last man to be dismissed as a a quick VAR check confirmed that the player had hit Alvaro Gonzalez - who had taunted him throughout the proceeding - in the back of his head. While heading for the tunnel, the former Barcelona ace apparently explained to the fourth official that the reason for his action was due to the fact that he had racial slurs hurled at him by the Marseille midfielder.

Telefoot Chaine commentators also claimed that Gonzalez said "Shut your mouth, dirty monkey." Watch the incident below:
