Blues' boss Frank Lampard has already narrowed his wishlist to three names, with one of them set to be hired in the next few days.

After two transfer windows in which the Blues were not allowed to hire new players, Frank Lampard's squad has been boosted by a wide variety of signings, which have included Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, and Hakim Ziyech, to name a few.

Well, apparently those names are not enough for Frank Lampard, as the English tactician has already asked his bosses to hire two more footballers: a goalkeeper and a midfielder.

Regarding the midfielder position, Lampard has narrowed his wishlist to two names. The first one of those is West Ham's Declan Rice, while the second one is none other than Lille's Boubakary Soumaré. According to The Athletic, West Ham's midfielder is on top of Lampard's shortlist, but if a deal can't be reached, then the Blues would go all in to sign Soumaré.

Regarding the other player, Lampard and Chelsea have reportedly started negotiation with French club Rennes for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy's services. The Blues' first bid of $18M was rejected by the French side, but ongoing negotiations could reach a positive end if Chelsea can come up with $26M to sign the shot-stopper.

Mendy's skills have been approved by club legend and technical advisor Petr Cech, who is believed to be behind Chelsea's decision to hire Mendy.

In any case, Mendy's arrival could see Chelsea forced to part ways with record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has fallen down Frank Lampard's pecking order under the sticks.
