Barca issues first reaction to Messi's interview

Barcelona issues first reaction to Lionel Messi's interview

September 4, 2020 By Oscar Rojas
The Blaugrana side and president Josep María Bartomeu had not commented on 'La Pulga's' decision to see the end of his deal at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi has finally decided to see the end of his deal at Barcelona, and the club had a somewhat shy reaction to the news.

Messi's announcement was filled with digs aimed at Barcelona's president, Josep María Bartomeu, and maybe that is the reason for Barcelona's practically inadverted response to their superstar's claims.

Hours after "La Pulga" announced his decision to keep playing for the Blaugrana side, the team quoted one of Messi's answers and posted a picture of him, wearing their new jersey, on social media. With that gesture, the team acknowledged Messi's answer and tried to bury the hatchet after several days of uncertainty.

The only question left to answer after this saga is: Will Messi put an end to his successful stint at Camp Nou next season and leave the club on a free transfer? We shall have our reply in less than ten months.
