The meeting is expected to take place in the late hours of the day, which means that Barcelona fans may know what will go down today.

In what could be called "D-Day" at Barcelona, Lionel Messi's father and agent has made his way to the Spanish city to decide his son's future. Jorge Messi arrived into Barcelona during the earlier hours of the day after making the trip from Rosario, Argentina, and he is expected to hold a crucial meeting with Blaugrana boss Josep María Bartomeu later on.

Messi refused to discuss his son's future as he tried to board a taxi. Nevertheless, journalists for Deportes Cuatro intercepted him right outside the Messi Foundation's headquarters, where he was supposed to meet his son's legal team.

There, the Argentine agent briefly revealed that all negotiations will be every bit as hard as the general public can imagine. Messi's father also added that Barcelona's desire to keep "La Pulga" around will be quite difficult to satisfy, leaving the door open for a transfer.

Last, but not least, Jorge Messi spoke about the alleged deal reached with Manchester City and Pep Guardiola. Sadly for Manchester City fans, Messi Sr. dismissed all rumors and revealed he has not been in touch with either the club or the Catalan boss.

"EXPLOSIVE statement by Messi's father: 'Leo has it difficult to STAY with BARÇA'

Here's the much needed translation of the encounter.

Jugones (Jug): "Good evening Jorge, will Messi leave Barcelona?"

Jorge Messi (JM): "I don't know"

Jug: "How can you picture this scenario?"

JM: "It's difficult, difficult."

Jug: "Difficult for him to stay?"

JM: "Yes."

Jug: "Is Manchester City a good option?"

JM: "I don't know. There's nothing about that yet."

Jug: "Have you talked to Pep (Guardiola)? He said that it would be wise for Leo to stay here..."

JM: "I haven't talked to Pep."

Jug: "You didn't speak to Pep?"

JM: "No, with no one."

Jug: "And how can you picture the future with Barcelona?"

JM: "It's difficult, difficult..."
