The footballer has left the Blaugrana side after six seasons, where he collected thirteen titles across all competitions.

It's official: the exodus at Barcelona has begun. As per a press release by the club, Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic will no longer play for the Blaugrana side, as he has reached a deal to join UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla for the next four years.

Rakitic had been close to leaving Barcelona for the past two years, and now, with Ronald Koeman's arrival, the 2018 FIFA World Cup runner up with Croatia has decided to part ways with the club where he won multiple La Liga titles and one UEFA Champions League.

According to both clubs, Sevilla will pay Los Culés a symbolic $1.8M transfer. Add-ons to the deal could take the final amount to over $10M if Rakitic is key to the team's objectives next season.

The Croatian footballer will leave Barcelona ranked fourth in apps for a foreign player (311).

"Ivan Rakitic has returned to his home, and he is a new Sevilla player. Welcome back, Ivan!"
