Arsenal and Liverpool lock horns in the FA Cup Community Shield, the curtain-raiser to the 2020/21 season of English football
The FA Cup Community Shield, the curtain-raiser to every season of English football, is upon us. Liverpool, the Premier League champions, will be taking on Arsenal, the FA Cup winners, in Saturday's highly-anticipated game. The pair will face off at Wembley, the venue of the Gunners' recent success over Chelsea, with Arteta's side aiming to record their second straight win over the Reds.
The last time they met, it was the north London giants that emerged victorious, albeit an unusual error from Van Dijk gifted them the victory. 2-1 was the scoreline in that Emirates Stadium showdown. However, unlike then, both sides may not be able to field their best starting elevens due to the break, injuries, and quarantine regulations for players returning from certain countries.
Van Dijk is fit for Saturday's clash but doubts linger over TAA
All eyes will be on Arsenal newcomers Willian and William Saliba, with the Brazilian joining for free from Chelsea over the summer and the Frenchman returning from his loan spell at St-Etienne. As for Liverpool, fans will be eager to see whether Klopp's rampant side will hit the ground running or not ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Lyon kick off Ligue 1 campaign at home to Dijon while Liga MX Matchday 7 begins with second-placed Toluca's trip to Puebla
Matchday 2 in Ligue 1 is upon us. It is in the second round that Lyon will be kicking off their campaign, entering the fold exactly nine days after their Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Bayern Munich. Aouar and Co. will take to the field against Dijon but that is not the only interesting match set to occur in the French top-flight in the next couple of days.
Rennes, one of France's three representatives in the Champions League, take on Montpellier while Reims, the side that finished sixth in the standings last season, host Lille in what should be an entertaining encounter. Marseille embark on their season on Sunday and will be locking horns with Brest, the club that lost 4-0 in their opening game.
Moving over to Mexico, Liga MX is gearing up for Matchday 7. Kicking things off is second-placed Toluca's trip to Puebla, which will be followed by Tigres UANL's clash with bottom-of-the-table Mazatlán. América take on Atlético San Luis while Chivas, who are 12th in the table after losing three of their last five matches, are set to face sixth-placed Pachuca. UEFA Women's Champions League Final taking place this weekend
Wolfsburg and Lyon will lock horns in the final of the 2019/20 UEFA Women's Champions League, bringing an end to what has been a rocky season for European football. The French outfit are the reigning champions and are aiming to lift the coveted crown for a whopping fifth time in a row. The Germans, on the other hand, will be hoping for a repeat of the 2013 final in which they beat Olympique Lyonnais Féminin to win the title. Who will be declared the queens of Europe? Maguire: I feared for my life during Greece incident
Harry Maguire has been at the center of controversy, being arrested in Greece. He was later found guilty of bribery and assault, and was given a suspended prison sentence, all of which led to him being dropped from the England squad. However, in an interview with BBC Sport, the center-back said he thought he was being kidnapped and feared for his life while denying any wrongdoing.

However, the French publication claims Jorge informed them that Leo has already chosen Man City as his next destination.
