Fans in the USA will be able to tune into both the men's and women's FA Community Shield matches on Saturday, August 29th on ESPN+ featuring Arsenal & Liverpool (men's) and Chelsea & Manchester City (women's).

Although it may seem like the 2019/2020 Premier League season just ended due to delays as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there's little rest for stars featuring in English football's top flight as the Community Shield kicks off this Saturday, and fans in the USA will be able to follow all the action starting from 11:00 EST (8:00 PST) on ESPN+ with build-up commentary and analysis.

Widely viewed as the annual curtain-raiser to each season as it features the winner of the FA Cup and the league champions, this year's edition will feature Arsenal, who defeated cross-town rivals Chelsea in the FA Cup final earlier this summer, and Liverpool, who finally ended their decades-long wait to get their hands on the Premier League title after an astounding campaign under Jurgen Klopp.

This will be the 98th installment of the FA Community Shield, and Liverpool will be featuring in its first event since 2006, when they beat Chelsea 2-1. Arsenal, meanwhile, are featuring in their first Community Shield in 13 years, with the Gunners last making an appearance in 2007, during which they also beat Chelsea - albeit they needed to go to spot-kicks after the match ended as a one-all draw during regulation time.

With star players like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang featuring, this match is certain to be an interesting one. In addition, this looks set to be the first competitive fixture for Willian since his move from Chelsea earlier this summer.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal are joint-tied for 15 Community Shields, so whoever wins this match, which will  kick off at 11:30 EST (8:30 PST) and featured on ESPN+ for USA-based fans will become the second-most decorated side in the competition. However, they'll have quite a ways to go to catch up to Manchester United, who have earned 21 Community Shields to date.

Meanwhile, for fans of the ladies' game, Saturday will also be featuring Women's Community Shield. Although this competition was started in 2000, it was disbanded in 2008, and now makes a return this year, featuring 2019/20 Barclays FA Women's Super League champions Chelsea and 2019 FA Women's FA Cup winners Manchester City. Unlike the men's league, the women's league was suspended, and so Manchester City secured their spot as a result of the truncated season. Fans women's football will be looking forward to seeing faces like USWNT star Rose Lavelle, Australian ace Sam Kerr, and English skipper Steph Houghton.

The Women's Community Shield kicks off at 7:30 EST (that's 4:30 PST for those of you who are really devoted supporters!) and ESPN+ is also featuring this match, so if you're up for it, you can certainly make Saturday a double header of FA Cup action. Start off early by tuning into to the Women's Community Shield featuring Chelsea and Manchester City as you enjoy breakfast, and then get ready for what's set to be a tantalizing clash between Arsenal and Liverpool as both teams battle for the first piece of silverware of the 2020/2021 season.
