The German midfielder spoke on his podcast about Friday's game and even predicted who will take the 2019-20 UCL title home.

Watching your bitter rivals take a massive beating such as the one Barcelona endured on Friday evening can prompt all sort of reactions, and Toni Kroos did not shy away from sharing how Los Blancos' players reacted to the 8-2 defeat handed to Barcelona by Bayern München in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

Speaking on his podcast, the German midfielder admitted that the team's Whatsapp group was filled with joy when goals kept pouring in against the Blaugrana side. The only downside, according to Kroos, is that he couldn't go public with some of the comments made by his teammates.

"You could not show everything (in public), but you can imagine there was no mourning them. There was a lot of Schadenfreude (malicious joy)," Kroos stated.

The midfielder went on to state that this is not the first time in which Los Blancos celebrated in high spirits one of Barcelona's recent awful nights in the European competition.

"When they threw away their 4-1 lead against Roma, some of my teammates ran up and down their rooms, screaming and celebrating their loss," Kroos added.

The former Bayern player went on to give Die Roten his blessing to win the coveted Champions League title after Friday's performance, which was followed up by Wednesday's 3-0 win vs Lyon in the semi-finals.

"It looks to me that Bavaria will win and that would be absolutely fine. Their results are enough to make Bayern favourites. I think Bayern will win. They are the best of the remaining teams," Kroos concluded.

The German footballer is expected back with Real Madrid in the next couple of weeks to start preparations for the 2020-21 season. Let's see if his words ignite even further the rivalry between the two Spanish giants.
