Edwin Van Der Sar is aware of the chance to complete his Manchester United medal cabinet but the Dutchman insisted that he is only focusing on the match against Manchester City
Edwin Van Der Sar has been a revelation for Sir Alex Ferguson ever since the United boss brought him to Old Trafford in 2005. The Dutchman has aided most of United's trophy bid and as tomorrow's clash looms ahead, we are reminded of the fact that he has never won the FA Cup with Manchester United.

The former Fulham goalkeeper has almost literally won everything he could have won as a Devil but an FA Cup medal remains the only absentee from his grandiose medal collection. If United win against City tomorrow, they will go one step closer to winning the FA Cup, which will ultimately be the perfect sending-off gift for Van Der Sar as he retires at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, the decorated goalkeeper is not about to think regarding his medal collections and stressed that he is solely focused on winning the match against their local rivals tomorrow.

The Dutchman said: "An FA Cup medal is missing from my collection but I am not going into the game more focused or tense because of that. At the end of tomorrow's game there is no medal or honour. It is just a semi-final.

"Obviously, it would be a great achievement to reach the final and give ourselves a chance of winning the tournament but at the moment I am not that bothered."

Manchester City have grown by leaps and bounds since the massive takeover by the Arabians and Van Der Sar is aware of the significant threat posed by the Villains.

He added: "The derby has always been good, but it is a little bit more emphasized now because of the money that City have been spending in the last few years and the quality players they are bringing in.

"Maybe for them, the game is not played with the heart quite so much and more with their quality players. We have plenty of them as well though and hopefully they can make a difference for our team as they have done in the last couple of games."
