An overview of broadcasters globally for the 2019/2020 season, and if there have been any changes due to COVID-19.

With the UEFA Champions League resuming action in just a few days (August 7th) fans around the world are surely looking forward to seeing their favorite teams back on the pitch.

The tournament will resume with a one-off tie to wrap up the remaining round of 16 ties, featuring Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Lyon, Juventus, Manchester City, Napoli, and Real Madrid. Once that is completed, the first of two quarter-finals featuring French giants PSG and determined Serie A side Atalanta - who are featuring in their first ever Champions League tournament - gets underway on August 12th, followed by the second quarter-finals with RB Leizpig and Atletico Madrid the following day.

However, due to the spread of COVID-19, which started in Wuhan, China sometime in 2019 and has now since hit every single continent except Antarctica, it will not be "business as usual" once things kick things off. Rather, there will be some stringent rules and regulations applied in order to keep players, staff, and others safe and to avoid the contagion from spreading further.

That includes in some cases, matches being played behind closed doors, or having a reduced number of fans allowed in the stadiums. In addition, the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played as single knockout games as opposed to the traditional two-legged ties. As we prepare for this new re-formatted Champions League tournament, a huge question many fans will have is: Which broadcasters will be covering the rest of the 2019/2020 UCL season in my country (or geographic location)?

Another two questions fans may have is: Have any of the broadcasters changed since the UEFA Champions League went on pause on March 13th? Have any new broadcasters been added?

We have all your answers to those queries below!

For fans living in the United States, there are a plethora of options that are available,  but some have changed during the three month pause.

There are some big changes for English-speaking fans when it comes to coverage of the UEFA Champions League. Previously, Turner held the TV broadcasting rights for the UCL (as well as the UEL) throughout the 2021 season via TNT and as such, matches were also live-streamed on Bleacher Report (B/R).

However, that has now changed. For live streaming, CBS All Access will be the option fans can turn to, while CBS Sports Networks will provide TV coverage in the USA for several matches, including the Europa League and Champions League finals.

For fans that speak Spanish, Univision Deportes will cover matches as per usual.

For viewers in the UK, the BT Sports Family is the main provider for Champions League access. Online streaming is available via BTSport.com, and those who prefer an on-the-go experience can catch matches via the BT Sport App.

For supporters residing in Canada, the status quo still remains.  DAZN Canada is the main provider to catch your favorite team in the Champions League this term.

Do you call France home? Well, then, your choices include the following: Canal+, TF1, beIN Sports France, and RMC Sport.

For viewers living in Australia, the option for you to follow the UCL this season is Optus Sports.
