It's set to be a London Derby as Arsenal and Chelsea lock horns in the 2020 FA Cup final on Saturday, August 1st at Wembley Stadium.

Preview: Arsenal vs Chelsea

The 139th FA Cup final will feature a London derby as bitter rivals Arsenal and Chelsea will lock horns on Saturday. For the Gunners, this will present their only opportunity to qualify for European competition next season, as they finished well outside the top four spots and did not earn enough points to grab a Europa League football berth. Despite getting rid of Unai Emery and hiring Mikel Arteta, Arsenal ended up finishing in eighth place, which is their worst finish in over two decades. Thus, this game is that much more vital for them, as failure to win will mean no European football and could cost them the services of stars like striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for next season.

However, Arsenal are this competition's most decorated side. No team has won the FA Cup more times than the London outfit, and they've won eight out of their last nine finals. That being said, they will be taking on a team who have also done quite well in this same competition. Chelsea are no slouches when it comes to the FA Cup, and unlike Arsenal, they have already secured European football for next season, so this match is not all or nothing for them when it comes to playing in European competition for the 2020/2021 campaign. And to complicate matters, the Gunners have a growing injury list ahead of this contest. Still, Arsenal's head to head record against Chelsea in the FA Cup is quite formidable - with the Gunners losing just one of their last 13 FA Cup meetings against the Blues.

Both teams secured their spots in the final at the expense of Manchester-based teams, with Arsenal defeating City and Chelsea beating United in the semi-finals. This game will be an interesting one for Olivier Giroud, who has made the FA Cup his turf as the World Cup winner has netted 16 goals so far - and quite a few of those have been during his time in an Arsenal kit. However, now that he's joined the Blues, he'll be doing his best to help Lampard win his first title since taking over as Chelsea manager earlier this season.

Each side concluded the season on a high note following defeats in their respective Premier League ties. Chelsea bounced back from a 5-3 loss to Liverpool by earning a hard-fought 2-0 win over Wolves to complete their goal of securing Champions League football, while Arsenal will hope that they will be able to carry some of the positive momentum from their 3-2 win over Watford (following an embarrassing 1-0 loss to Aston Villa) into Saturday's final.

Team news: Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal: Key defender Shkodran Mustafi is out until the fall after suffering a hamstring injury during the semi-finals of the FA Cup. He now joins Gabriel Martinelli, Calum Chambers, and Pablo Mari on the injury list, as well as Bernd Leno.

Meanwhile, both Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi continue to be frozen out - despite apparently being fit - for one reason or another, so Arteta will need to figure out who he'll have to deploy in midfield ahead of this game.

Chelsea: Youngster Billy Gilmour is the only definite absentee for Chelsea, as N'Golo Kante has returned to training. However, it remains to be seen whether the French World Cup winning star midfielder will feature here, as Lampard may not want to risk him as he's just starting to recover from a hamstring injury.
