The Chilean ace has had an up and coming season in Italy, but Manchester United's reasons go far beyond their finances.

Inter Milan's desire to keep Alexis Sánchez around may not work as Antonio Conte and his bosses might have thought, since Manchester United has not agreed terms with their Italian counterparts.

According to a report by Sky Sport Italia, the nerazzurri side is willing to work out a deal to sign the player on a permanent basis, but in order to do so, they have asked Manchester United to loan Sánchez until the end of their run in the UEFA Europa League. Nevertheless, Manchester United is not willing to do so because both clubs could end up facing each other in the later stages of the competition.

The deal between both clubs stated that Sánchez could remain at the Guiseppe Meazza until the end of the 2019-20 Serie A season, but keeping the player around for the UEFA Europa League is not an option.

In order to see Sánchez staying with Inter for the end of the continental tournament, the nerazzurri would have to make the current loan deal between both clubs permanent, something that is still under consideration by the Italian squad.

Inter are set to face Getafe on August 5 in a single-leg tie set to be held in Germany. Meanwhile, Manchester United will have to play the second leg of their series against LASK that same day. These teams could face each other in the final, as they have been placed on different sides of the bracket.
