The Gunners are keen on another loan spell for the Spanish midfielder, with Mikel Arteta getting the best out of the Real Madrid man.

It’s no secret that Arsenal are keen on retaining the services of Dani Ceballos past his current loan spell. The Spaniard joined the Gunners from Real Madrid over the summer on a season-long deal, with the Gunners now receiving a huge boost in their bid to keep him at the Emirates Stadium for next season.

According to El Confidencial, Ceballos himself is keen on extending his stay in north London. The midfielder is reportedly set to call Florentino Perez, the president of his parent club Los Blancos, to persuade the Liga champions into accepting another loan agreement.

After a disappointing start to life at the Emirates Stadium, Dani has emerged as a crucial figure since football returned, with his partnership with Xhaka in the middle of the park helping the Gunners reach the FA Cup final. Arteta, having managed to get the best out of his countryman, admitted that Arsenal are keen on keeping Ceballos as club are in need of midfielders.

The financial ramifications brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic could complicate things regardless of the player’s desire. Both the Gunners and Real Madrid are in need of funds for the upcoming transfer window. Acquiring the Spaniard on loan would save the north London giants money which they could use elsewhere. Los Merengues, on the other hand, are reportedly demanding $29M for a permanent transfer as this would benefit them financially.

With the player’s future up in the air, the only thing that is certain is that he will be with the Premier League outfit until the current campaign ends. This means he is destined to feature in the FA Cup final, bar an unfortunate suspension or injury.
