The battle to keep playing in La Liga has been narrowed down to two teams. Celta and Leganés will face tough matches to maintain the category after 37 grueling games for both sides. Leganés seems to have a tougher test to maintain the category, as they will face Real Madrid, but Celta's match against Espanyol will not be a walk in the park. Five teams struggle for both Europa League slots available
All UEFA Champions League spots have already been awarded to Real Madrid (1st), Barcelona (2nd), Atlético and Sevilla (who could still shift positions if Sevilla beats Valencia and Atlético loses against Real Sociedad). However, both UEFA Europa League spots are yet to be decided. Villarreal (57 pts) and Real Sociedad (55 pts) own those spots at the moment, but Getafe (54 pts), Valencia and Granada (both with 53 points), could all snatch European spots away from the Yellow Submarine and the Txuri-urdin.
Benzema stealing the goalscoring title away from Messi?
The Pichichi race has been narrowed down to two men: Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema. The Argentine ace is two goals ahead of the Frenchman, and he will surely try to save his season with the only title he has at hand. A hat-trick by Benzema would cap an amazing season for the French striker, but it remains to be seen the role each player has during their team's games on Sunday.
Messi will have a slight edge over Benzema, as Barcelona's game will be the first to be played on Sunday. On the other hand, Benzema will be playing with Los Blancos in one of the seven games that will take place at the same time, and if Messi extends his lead over the French striker, he might opt to rest rather than making a run for the goalscoring title.
