The Red Devils are ready to smash the bank for the 20-year-old English sensation but there is one hurdle facing the club in their pursuit of the winger.

Man United's interest in Jadon Sancho is no secret. The Englishman has proven to be one of the most exciting young players in world football and the Red Devils are keen on bringing him back to Manchester, with the Sun now claiming the club is close to agreeing a deal for the 20-year-old.

Solskjaer is a fan of the former Man City man, who has established himself as a Bundesliga superstar since leaving the Etihad Stadium for the Signal Iduna Park. The player is said to keen on a return to England but given he his highly sought after and is under contract until 2022, BVB are demanding a hefty $126M (£100M) for the creative winger.

This was initially thought to be a huge roadblock for the Red Devils given COVID-19 pandemic, with Ed Woodward stating not too long ago that they are not exempt from the financial ramifications brought on by the coronavirus. However, the Sun claims that the 20-time Premier League champions are ready to meet Dortmund's valuation., which would make him the record signing at the Theatre of Dreams.

One key factor is whether the club will be playing in the Champions League or Europa League next season. Given their form and trajectory, Rashford and Co. are the favorites to finish in the top four despite currently occupying the fifth spot. Failure to do so could hamper their plans as the financial boost from making UEFA's premier club competition could be the deciding factor.

Solskjaer's side have been excellent since the return of football but the addition of Sancho should take them to the next level. The 20-year-old enjoyed another stellar Bundesliga campaign despite missing out on the title, scoring 17 goals and assisting another 17 in the German top-flight in 2019/20. As for the Man Utd coach and players, their main focus will be on Sunday's FA Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea as the Old Trafford side aim to beat the Blues for the third time this campaign and book their ticket to the final.
