The 2019 Copa Libertadores champion with Flamengo will return to the Eagles once he signs a new deal with the Portuguese side next week.

Benfica's desire to have Jorge Jesus back has finally been fulfilled, as the successful boss has reportedly agreed a fresh three-year deal with the Eagles for the 2020-21 season.

The Portuguese boss, who recently won the Carioca Cup with Flamengo, will leave the Rubro-Negro side after a short but successful stint in Brazil. During his time with the Brazilian side, Jorge Jesús won more titles (6) than he lost games (4). He coached Flamengo for 56 games in all comps, winning a massive 42 and adding 10 draws to his record, and on top of that, he became the second European coach 

Jesús will return to Benfica after five years away from the team. He had led the Eagles to ten domestic titles, including three leagues and five Taça da Liga trophies before the team's hierarchy decided not to extend his contract. 

Now, the 65-year-boss will return to the Eagles after he puts pen to paper to a three-year deal, which will reportedly earn him and his staff over €4M (around $4.5M). Added to that, Benfica will pay Flamengo a $2.3M buyout clause to end Jesús' deal with the Brazilian side. 

If the monetary side of the deal was quite appealing, the chance of boosting his team with a €100M budget. According to A Bola and Record, Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira will offer Jesús that amount to hire reinforcements. At least three of those players will come from Flamengo, as Jesús has named Bruno Henrique, Gerson, and Leo Pereira as key to his new project with the Portuguese side.

According to the Portuguese newspapers mentioned above, Jorge Jesus will be signing his new deal on Tuesday, ending one of the most successful eras in Flamengo history.
