The Blaugrana side was not able to keep the battle for La Liga open after their loss at home against Osasuna, and both player and coach left several issues up in the air.

Not winning the league title with Barcelona is something Lionel Messi is not used to, but dropping the ball when the team still had a chance to claim the crown is a bit embarrassing for the Argentine and his teammates.

Speaking after their 2-1 loss against Osasuna, Messi admitted that losing the title will have to bring changes to the Camp Nou, especially when it comes to the way the team is facing the games.

"I said it before, we have few chances of winning the UEFA Champions League if we keep playing like this. After what happened today, it is clear that we did not have enough on our feet to win La Liga. We have to look into our hearts and see what's happening. We can't think that we lost today because the opponents were better than us. Playing like this, we will also be eliminated from the UCL by Napoli," Messi stated.

Visibly upset, Messi went further on with his diagnostic, and he was truly harsh when he referred to the team's inconsistency all season long. If that was not enough, he aimed a slight dig at his teammates without mentioning any names.

"We were not expecting to end the season like this, but this game is a reflection of our year. We're a weak team that is defeated when the rival is willing to fight with intensity for any given result. We lost a great deal of points where we shouldn't have. We were highly irregular," Messi added.

Before his post-match interview concluded, Lionel Messi stepped away from the controversy surrounding Real Madrid, VAR, and the refs, by admitting that Los Blancos won the league title fair and square.

"Real Madrid did what they needed to do. They have not lost after the pause in the league. We lost a whole bunch of points down the road, and it's time to be analytical. We are Barcelona and we must go out there with nothing but victory on our minds," Messi concluded.

Team coach Quique Setién somehow disagreed with Messi in regards to how the team dropped points because some players laid back during key moments of the games.

"I don't know how anyone can measure the effort each player puts in any given game. I am happy with what I saw. We tried to change some things, we succeeded in some of those, but we failed to win all the games with that approach. We tried hard enough, but it wasn't meant to be," Setién said.

Before he went into the team's locker room, Setién left his future as Barça boss up in the air even before their UEFA Champions League clash against Napoli.

"I am convinced about how we will be a different team by then. We have high hopes for that game and we will face the UEFA Champions League tie as well as we can. I hope I can be around to coach the team for that game, but I don't know if I will be allowed to do so," Setién concluded.

The team will be handed a few days off once the league comes to an end this weekend, and major changes could come within the club after such a disappointing end to the 2019-20 season.
