Sérgio Conceição's men will look to clinch the league title with a win over their fierce rivals in the mid-week's blockbuster clash.

Match Preview

Champions-elect FC Porto will welcome third-placed Sporting to Estadio do Dragao in Wednesday night's league encounter. With just three games of the season left, the Dragons are far ahead of the pack and are on track to clinch the Primeira Liga title provided the manage at least a point in the upcoming test.

Sérgio Conceição's men have so far accrued 76 points and have registered four successive victories. The resumption of the league has been particularly kind to Porto as they are without a loss in six games played within the period.

In essence, the former defending champions come into the mid-week's encounter as favorites, having secured 3-1 win over CD Tondela in their previous outing.

For Sporting, the objective to secure a Champions League spot is almost complete although they will need at least a win to ensure their saftey to remain in the top-four. Like Porto, the resumption of the league has brought good fortunes for the Lions.

Of the seven games played during the period, they have been unbeaten - recording five wins and two draws. In that, they have also been quite solid at the back, conceeding just four goals in seven outings while scoring 13.

With Sporting suffering a 2-1 home defeat to theit hosts in the reverse clash earlier this year, the upcoming clash should present them with the perfect opportunity to finally get a revenge over their rivals.
