The Gunners host the Premier League champions straight after their recent North London Derby defeat. Will Arteta's men bounce back? Live Soccer TV's preview gives you match facts, team news, and global broadcast listings for Arsenal vs Liverpool.

Preview – Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arsenal, a side still clinging on to their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season, will be facing the best team in England this midweek in the form of Liverpool. The Premier League champions will visit the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday in what should be an interesting clash for both sides, given the circumstances surrounding both teams heading into this fixture.

For the home side, the task is simple: return to winning ways. While it is easier said than done, given how rampant Klopp’s side has been this term, Arteta’s men cannot afford another slip-up. They could not afford one over the weekend in the North London Derby but slip up, they did, losing 2-1 to Tottenham despite dominating the game for the most part. As a result, the Gunners dropped to ninth in the table and are five points behind sixth-placed Wolves.

In that North London Derby defeat, promising signs under Arteta’s reign was once again hampered by poor defending as a comical error from Kolasinac gifted Spurs a goal in the first half. The Arsenal boss admitted the financial advantages of competing in Europe will drastically determine their summer rebuilding project. The Gunners cannot afford to miss out on the Europa League.

As for Liverpool, the title race is done and dusted but the Reds have the opportunity of breaking Man City’s 10-point record. With only three rounds remaining, the Merseyside giants are eight points from making history. A draw at the Emirates Stadium would mean, at best, they could only match the Citizens’ achievement from 2017/18.

Team news

Arsenal have no fresh concerns. Mesut Ozil is back in training but the German will likely be left out again, with Arteta stating in a pre-match press conference that his situation has not changed. Eddie Nketiah, who was shown a straight red card in the 1-1 draw with Leicester a while back, remains suspended. The likes of Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers, Bernd Leno, and Gabriel Martinelli all remain injured.

Liverpool, on the other hand, look to be without James Milner as this game comes too soon for the Englishman. Trent Alexander-Arnold should return to the lineup but the same cannot be said for Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip as both are out for the rest of the season.
