Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba came under scrutiny in Monday night's clash with Southampton for the role he played in the buildup to the game's opener. A brief moment of lapse in concentration by the Frenchman presented the Saints with the opportunity to take the lead inside the 12th minute.
Following a frantic start to affairs Southampton, who had been the better side in the early minutes, had their efforts rewarded through the bizarre moment that featured Paul Pogba. The World Cup winner, having received a pass from the back, lost possession on the edge of the box and Stuart Armstrong capitalized to score for the visitors. Watch:

Pogba, however, vindicated himself moments later by delivering a superb pass to Anthony Martial to assist Marcus Rashford for Manchester United's equalizer. The Red Devils doubled their lead three minutes later through a curler by Anthony Martial.
