Match Preview
Real Madrid are closer to this season's La Liga title than ever and will aim to take another step further with Monday's trip to Granada. With just three games of the season left to play, Los Blancos could be three points away from lifting this season's title with a win at Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes.
Indeed, the form of Zinedine Zidane;s men ahead of the clash overrules any prospect of an upset ensuing, especially not during a period in which the stakes are extremeely high. Needless to say, while nothing is guareenteed, the Whites will be counting on their unbeaten run enjoyed from the restart of the league season in order to deliver the goods. So far, they have won all the eight matches played during the period, scoring 12 and conceding just twice.
For Granada, their mid-table status simply paints the picture of the topsy-turvy ride they have endured this season. While there have been good performances in some games, others have yielded poor results.
Over the course of the previous 10 matches, the Nazaries have registered four wins, four draws and two defeats. They have been sparingly good since the league was restored, winning two games and drawing two as well.
While it will be a dream to halt the domineering run of Real Madrid, the odds are strongly in favor of the visitors who lead rivals Barcelona by four points and on head to head.
Team news
Granada enter Monday's encounter with Maxime Gonalons, Alex Martinez, Quini and Neyder Lozano all absent through injury. On a positive note, Alvaro Vadillo should overcome a stomach problem and compete for places in the starting lineup.
Real Madrid will be without Marcelo as he is nursing an adductor injury. Nacho's availability is also a major doubt. Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos and Carvajal will return to the side after missing the recent win over Alaves through suspension.
Predicted lineup
Granada: Silva; Foulquier, Diaz, Vallejo, Duarte, Neva; Machis, Herrera, Azeez, Puertas; Soldado
Real Madrid: Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Mendy; Kroos, Casemiro, Valverde; Hazard, Benzema, Asensio.
