Ibra makes bold statement after Milan 4-2 Juve

Ibrahimovic makes bold Zlatan-esque statement after AC Milan's 4-2 comeback win vs Juve

July 8, 2020 By Ali M.
The Swedish icon inspired a remarkable comeback victory over Cristiano and Co. on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, AC Milan pulled off a remarkable Serie A victory against league leaders and reigning champions Juventus. The Italian giants hosted the Old Lady at the San Siro and found themselves 2-0 down after 53 minutes, but a 62nd-minute goal from Zlaan Ibrahimovic sparked a spectacular comeback.

The Swedish icon netted from the spot after the Rossoneri were awarded a penalty. Two quick-fire goals from Franck Kessie and Rafael Leao saw AC Milan turn things around in the span of five minutes, with an Alex Sandro error gifting Ante Rebic a goal with only 10 minutes of normal time let to hand the Milan giants a 4-2 triumph.

As a result of this victory, Pioli's side have now temporarily climbed to fifth in the table. Speaking after the game, Ibrahimovic, who also had a first-half goal ruled out for outside, made a bold statement. In typical Zlatan style, the striker stated that AC Milan would have won the Scudetto had he been there from the start of the season.

"If I was here from the beginning of the season, we would have won the Scudetto!" the 38-year-old told DAZN (as per Goal).

"I am president, coach and player, but they only pay me as a footballer."

Zlatan returned to San Siro for a second spell back in January, joining as a free agent after calling an end to his time in the MLS. Since arriving in Milan, the Swede has scored six goals but his future at the club remains uncertain as his stay appears destined to end this season.

"There is still a month, so let's see. There are things that we cannot in control," he added.

"Playing without fans is a pity, a strange situation. We do our job, we are professionals. It could have been the last time they have seen me live in San Siro."
