Solskjaer will be hoping for the best as the Red Devils will need both men for the final six rounds of the season.

Amid the Premier League’s heated top-four race, Man United have been dealt with potentially disastrous fate as two key players have reportedly picked up injuries during the final hurdle. Those men are none other than Bruno Fernandes.

According to the Mirror, (as per the Mirror), the pair were involved in a collision during a training session, with the accidental clash leaving both players with knocks. Of the two, Fernandes is said to have come off worse, which is more worrisome for the Red Devils as he has been nothing but amazing since arriving at Old Trafford in the winter transfer window.

The Portuguese ace arrived from Sporting CP with much hype and has delivered, scoring six goals and assisting an additional four in 13 appearances for Solskjaer’s men. His arrival turned things around for Man United, guiding them to five wins and three draws in the eight Premier League games he has featured in.

As for Pogba, he has been struggling with injuries this season as has thus missed a huge chunk of the campaign. The Frenchman has featured in his club’s last three games and will be keen to avoid another spell on the sidelines.

The aforementioned incident occurred during preparations for their upcoming clash with Bournemouth. Both Fernandes and Pogba underwent treatment but it remains uncertain whether they will miss today’s showdown with the relegation-battling Cherries. Solskjaer will have his fingers crossed as losing either of the two midfielders for even a few games could dent their Champions League hopes.

After Chelsea’s midweek loss to West Ham, Man United are now only two points adrift of the fourth spot. With only six rounds remaining, the race to qualify for Europe will go down to the wire and the Red Devils are hoping to have both Fernandes and Pogba to swing the outcome in their favor.
