The German winger is reportedly set to join the Bavarians this summer.

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane is on the brink of securing a move to Bayern Munich, reports from the UK and Germany have revealed. This comes after his current club reportedly reached a £54.8 million agreement with the Bundesliga champions to sanction the transfer of the want-away attacker.

The future of Sane has been up in the air for almost 24 months and as things stand, the 24-year-old forward will be securing his much anticipated switch to Bayern. Having been continually linked with a move back to the Bundesliga, Pep Guardiola and the Manchester City hierarchy gave up all hopes of prolonging the player's stay after he refused a new deal which would have seen his wages doubled.

According to Sports Bild in Germany and the UK media, Bayern Munich will pay City an initial fee of £44.7 million (€49m). The remainder of the £54.8 million fee will be spread across performance and trophy-related add-ons. The Citizens are also believed to have agreed a 10-percent sell-on fee should the Bavarians decide to sell Sane in the future.

Meanwhile, the former Schalke 04 prodigy is expected to earn £20 million annually. The player recently returned from a cruciate ligament knee injury sustained in the FA Community Shield win over Liverpool at the beginning of the season and had just a year remaining on his current contract. He has made just two appearances for Manchester City this season.
