Preview: Genoa vs Juventus

Genoa recovered from a confidence-sapping 4-1 home loss to Parma by grinding out a point against Brescia, but the Grifone will now have to face a very tough task ahead when reigning champions Juventus come to town. Although the Bianconeri haven't been at their very best since Serie A resumed action, and will come into this match still missing a host of players due to injury, Maurizio Sarri's side are nonetheless expected to come away with a win from this game.

Juventus, who come into this match having cruised to an easy 4-0 win over Lecce, have struggled at Genoa's home ground lately, with three losses from their last six trips here. Still, La Vecchia Signora may not yet have fully found their groove just yet under Sarri's tenure, especially up front, but overall, they do look solid enough defensively and the Grifone aren't expected to pose much of a real threat, especially with morale not at the highest within their ranks.

The hosts have shipped 53 goals so far this season, which is the second-worst of any of the 20 teams competing in the top flight; only Lecce, who sit in 18th place and have conceded 64, have done worse. They might sit in 16th, but certainly are clearly looking like a strong candidate for relegation alongside fellow Genoa-based team Sampdoria, who are on a three-match losing streak and sit in 17th. Juventus, for their part, are now four points ahead of Lazio, who will take on Torino in an earlier match, and the Aquile will certainly be looking to put some pressure on La Vecchia Signora after slipping up in a 3-2 loss to Atalanta last week.
